We’re all aware of the benefits of meaningful experience of work and it comes in all shapes and sizes. What works for one young person, doesn’t work for all. That’s why it is so important to have choice and a breadth of opportunities accessible to everyone.
Pret A Manger, a leading food retailer in the UK, is offering young people between the ages of 16 - 18 the opportunity to shadow members of staff to gain an insight into the hospitality industry. Having first faced some criticism over pay, the high street sandwich giant will now be paying the work experience recruits the same hourly rate as regular staff.
With 500 places available throughout July, Pret have said that it’s a great opportunity to spend a week exploring a career in hospitality whilst building confidence, and meeting the people of Team Pret. With a variety of different careers available at Pret, it’s a chance to learn more about roles, responsibilities and future pathways.
The application process is easy and if successful, young people will also have the chance to be fast tracked through the Pret Apprenticeship programme.
